Dr. Tamizhkumaran J

Dr. Tamizhkumaran is a Assistant General Manager –  Veterinary Services at Dvara E-Dairy.

He holds a Doctorate in Veterinary science with specialization in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension from Madras Veterinary College, TANUVAS, Chennai. He completed is Masters (M.V.Sc) and Bachelor’s (B.V.Sc & A.H) from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research(RIVER), Pondicherry and a  Post Graduate diploma in Entrepreneurship from Annamalai university.

Dr. Tamizhkumaran has over 10 years of experience in large animal practice and livestock extension service. He is a specialist in Large animals and has previously worked in RIVER as Assistant Professor for almost 5.5 years and as MANAGE Research Fellow in National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. He has been involved in 9 research projects and published around 20 research articles, 72 popular articles and a book.

His YouTube channel “KALNADAINANBAN JTK” (198k+ subscribers) aims at creating awareness on scientific livestock rearing. He has won a Silver Button award from YouTube and 5 Best Paper Presentation awards for his research papers.

Dr. Tamizhkumaran draws inspiration from his father and himself. He loves listening to all kinds of music but is especially fond of Folk songs. He also enjoys music by Ilayaraja, Imman, Anirudh and A R Rahman. He enjoys eating a good Sambhar rice and potato fry combination.

He enjoys travelling to hill stations where he can go on long bike rides. He reads daily and his kindle is his everyday library. He enjoys books on History, Bio-graphies, Personal Development, Science Fiction and Literature. He can play the Morsing which is a Carnatic percussion instrument.

His friends describe him as an entertainer, good leader, singer, comedian, and chatter box. He can speak Tamil, English, Telugu, Malayalam and is currently learning Hindi as well.
